About the programme

This three-year bachelor’s programme is primarily designed for students who intend to continue their studies in follow-up master’s programmes. The focus of the programme reflects the societal need to achieve lasting environmental and social sustainability in business management. It was developed, among other things, in response to the requirements of professional practice arising from cooperation with dozens of companies, not only in the Pilsen Region.

Students will acquire, for example, knowledge in the field of materials engineering, particularly regarding the environmental impact of various types of materials, including recycled ones. They will also focus on processing technologies, sustainable design practices, production process efficiency, and reducing the energy intensity of manufacturing. The programme is aligned with European legislation concerning environmental, energy, and climate goals aimed at achieving climate neutrality by 2050. Graduates of bachelor’s degree programmes are awarded the academic title Bachelor (abbreviated as Bc., placed before the name).

Career Opportunities

Graduates of this programme are expected to continue primarily in follow-up master’s studies. However, they can also find employment in industrial sectors addressing issues of ecological and energy sustainability. They may work as technologists or project managers in companies focused on optimizing production processes to reduce environmental impact and energy consumption. They can also find roles as specialists in materials, recycling, and the circular economy. Graduates may work in corporate departments dedicated to sustainable development, where they will integrate environmental and climate goals into company culture and operations. Their interdisciplinary education also enables them to work as consultants or advisors in the fields of sustainability, recycling, or energy efficiency.
