The FME AS has 18 members, elected from among the members of the FME academic community. One third of the members of AS FME are students. The election of AS FME members, their position and the manner of proceedings of the AS FME are regulated by the election and rules of procedure of the AS FME, which can be downloaded in the important documents section. Membership of AS FME is incompatible with the functions of the Rector, Vice-Rectors, Deans and Vice-Deans. The term of office of individual members of the AS FME is two years. The term of office of all members of the AS FME ends if the AS FME has not acted for a period of six months pursuant to Section 27 of the Act. The Dean announces new elections within 30 days at the latest.

AS FME meetings are open to the public, the Dean or, on their behalf, the Vice-Dean, has the right to address the meeting whenever they so request. At the request of the Dean, the Chair of the AS FME is obliged to immediately convene an extraordinary meeting of the AS FME. AS FME publishes adopted resolutions. The Chair of the AS FME  has the right to participate in the meetings of the Dean's Board and the meetings of the FME Scientific Council. A member of the Board of the AS FME from among students also has the right to participate in the meetings of the Dean's Board in an advisory capacity.
